A letter from a concerned citizen
regarding Haley's Rights (Texas)
May 11, 2005
Hello, my name is T.H. and I am 21 years old from
Texas. First of all, I want to dearly apologize for
your loss. I know all the apologizing in the world can
not bring your daughter back to you. I stumbled onto
your Haley's Rights web page and read your story. I
have been going to college now for nearly 2 years
studying on being a nurse. However here recently I
have been second guessing myself on whether being a
nurse is right for me. Well that is until today. I
have been thinking of changing my major to sociology
and upon graduating, going into child welfare. But
after reading your story, I know that child welfare is
something I want to do. I just can't see how people
can harm a little child. Looking into their eyes is as
if looking into the eyes of God. I have a niece and 2
nephews, (no children of my own) and I just could NOT
imagine what it would be to lose them, or even see
them hurt. But I think doing this (Child welfare)
would be the best way for me to really help. Thank you
for sharing your story and inspiring me.
Sincerely,
T.H.
